Made For The Stage

Greetings Students and Families!

We at Denali Arts Council are so excited to, with support from the Alaska Community Foundation, be able to offer this free after school theater program for the fourth year in a row! Instructors Katie Pankow and Joel Stigliani are busy planning another robust curriculum for the participants of Made For the Stage 2026. This year, the Elementary (3rd-5th grade) participants will meet on Mondays, beginning January 5th, from 3:30-5:00pm and Secondary (6th-12th grade) participants meeting on BOTH Mondays AND Wednesdays, beginning January 5th, from 5:00-7:00pm. Space in the program is extremely limited but has potential to change - be sure to sign up for the waitlist if your age group is full!

Transportation and Facility Information:

From Talkeetna Elementary - Enter into School Dismissal Manager: Bus 208 "Main St and D Street @ Nagley's, walk to Hangar"

From SuValley Jr/Sr High School - Bus Pass for Bus 201 to Downtown. Students in after-school sports can take 4:30pm Sunshine Transit from SuValley to the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. 

- 3rd-5th grade participants will remain on site on Mondays until pickup 5:00pm. A snack will be provided to 3rd-5th grade participants upon their arrival to the Hangar. 3rd-5th grade students needing transportation home will depart the Hangar at 5:00pm in a DAC-sponsored van, to an agreed upon drop-off location (please contact Michelle 907-733-7929 to arrange this). 

- 6th-12th grade students will have access to the Hangar building beginning at school bus drop off time on both Mondays and Wednesdays. These students must have the autonomy to act responsibly as they will not be under direct supervision until their session begins at 5:00pm. Dinner will be provided to 6th-12th grade students at 4:45pm. 6th through 12th grade students needing transportation home will depart the Hangar at 7:00pm in a DAC-sponsored van, to an agreed upon drop-off location (please contact Michelle 907-733-7929 to arrange this).

- Once transportation is arranged through Michelle at DAC, the van driver, Donna, can be reached directly at 831-402-2554 for specific day and time coordination.
